Williamson is an Assistant Professor of African American Literature and Cultural Studies at Michigan State University.  Her research interests include critical black cultural studies and critical race theory, black feminist theory, femicide and gendered violence, legal constructions of deviance and outlawry. She is currently working on a manuscript culled from her dissertation project entitled Scandalize My Name: Black Feminist Practice and the Making of Black Social Life.
