DESCRIPTION

The department of African American Studies at UCLA, invites applications for non-tenure track lecturer positions in 2020-2021. We are looking for instructors that can teach one of the following courses: Black Experience in Latin America, Black Intellectual Thought and special topics in African American Studies. Lecturer appointments are part-time and made on a quarter by quarter basis as dictated by instructional needs and budget constraints of the department. Quarter academic appointment dates are as follows:

Fall: October 1-December 31st, 2020
Winter: January 1-March 31st, 2021
Spring: April 1-June 30th, 2021

We are particularly interested in candidates who are working transnationally, including on Africa and diaspora and whose scholarship and engagements are interdisciplinary.
