DESCRIPTION:The UCLA Departments of African American Studies & Education Present: \nDISPOSSESSION & ENCLOSURE: RECONSIDERING EDUCATION AND IMPRISONMENT\na conversation with Sabina Vaught & Damien Sojoyner \nSabina Vaught\, associate professor and chair of the Tufts University Department of Education & Damien Sojoyner\, assistant professor of anthropology at UC Irvine\, will discuss their respective books Compulsory: Education and the Dispossession of Youth in a Prison School and First Strike: Educational Enclosures in Black Los Angeles.
