Bryonn Bain

Bryonn Bain, the recipient of the Aris & Carolyn Anagnos Culture of Liberation Award from the Center for the Study of Political Graphics

We congratulate Bryonn Bain, the recipient of the Aris & Carolyn Anagnos Culture of Liberation Award from the Center for the Study of Political Graphics.

Actor, author, and prison activist, Bryonn Bain used his LWB (living while black) arrest in New York to create critically acclaimed LYRICS FROM LOCKDOWN, a one-man hip hop theater experience to tell his shocking story of police abuse, racial profiling, and unjustified imprisonment. Bryonn is currently developing UCLA’s prison education program at the California Institute for Women, a continuation of his 25 year commitment to bring arts, activism, and education to incarcerated people.

Professor Bain will be honored at their Annual Party and Auction on Sunday, October 23rd, at the Professional Musicians Union Local 47, 817 Vine Street, in Hollywood, CA.  The reception starts at 3pm and the awards program begins at 4:00. There will be an elegant reception, a dynamic poster presentation, and a unique auction of vintage posters and original artworks.
